Schutz und Sicherheit von Werten, Wandinstallation im Treppenhaus der Polizeiinspektion Immenstadt, 2001
Die Arbeit besteht aus siebzehn 60x80x0,8 cm großen Doppelglasscheiben. Zwischen je zwei Scheiben ist eine 23 ½ Karat Blattgoldfläche eingebracht. Vierzehn Scheiben sind vertikal in einer Doppelreihe im Treppenhaus montiert und drei horizontal an der westlichen Wand im Haupteingangsbereich.
Der Arbeit liegt die Absicht zugrunde, den komplexen Sachverhalt der Polizeiaufgaben in ein abstraktes Konzept zu übersetzen, mit der Arbeit eine eigenständige ästhetische Wirkung zu erzielen und gleichzeitig den Bezug zur vorgegebenen Architektur herzustellen. Schutz und Sicherheit von Werten als allgemeinste Charakterisierung der Polizeiarbeit ist der Ausgangspunkt.
Glas bietet Schutz und Transparenz. Mit der Verwendung von ESG – Sicherheitsglas wird genau das Material, das im Gebäude eine praktisch/funktionale Aufgabe besitzt, auch zum ästhetischen Symbol für die Schutz- und Sicherheitsaufgaben der Polizei gemacht.
Das Gold, das zwischen die Scheiben eingebracht ist, steht für die zu schützenden Werte - sowohl materielle wie moralische. Die Bedeutung dieser Werte spiegelt sich auch im tatsächlichen Sachwert des verwendeten Goldes.

Protection and Security of Values, Wall installation in the Police Departement of the City of Immenstadt
The work includes 17 double panes of glass 60x80x0,8 cm. Inbetween two panes there is always an area made of gold leave. 14 panes are installed vertically in the staircase of the building and three are put horizontally on the west wall of the entrance area.
The motivation for this work is based on the intention to translate the complexe fact of police duties in an abstract conception. I wanted to achieve an authentic esthetic result and at the same time to create a relationship to the given architecture. The starting point is protection and security of values as the most common characterization of police duties.
Glass offers protection and transparency. By using ESG – security glass, I exactly used that kind of material, that has functional duty in the building, also as the aesthetic symbol for the protection and security duties of the police.
Gold represents the values that have to be protected – material ones as well as moral ones. The signification of these values is also mirrored in the actual value of the gold.
